Product Introduction

C26000 is a specific grade of brass, which is a copper-zinc alloy. It falls under the category of cartridge brass, known for its good strength, excellent cold workability, and corrosion resistance.

Composition:

Copper (Cu): Approximately 70.0% to 73.0%

Zinc (Zn): Approximately 30.0% to 33.0%

Other Elements: May include small amounts of lead (Pb) and other elements for enhanced machinability or specific properties.

Physical Properties:

Strength: C26000 brass offers good strength, making it suitable for applications requiring moderate mechanical properties.

Cold Workability: It can be easily cold worked (e.g., bent, formed, stamped) due to its malleability and ductility.

Corrosion Resistance: It exhibits good corrosion resistance in atmospheric and marine environments, although not as high as certain copper-nickel alloys.

Mechanical Properties:

Tensile Strength: Typically ranges from 310 MPa to 415 MPa (45 ksi to 60 ksi), depending on temper and processing.

Elongation: Generally exhibits good elongation, allowing for extensive forming and shaping processes.

Machinability:

C26000 brass has excellent machinability, making it easy to cut, drill, mill, and turn. This property is advantageous for manufacturing precision components and parts.

Application

Construction/Indutry/Building/Chemical/Auto

Automotive: Used in automotive radiator cores, heater cores, and other heat exchange components.

Plumbing and HVAC: Commonly used for plumbing fittings, valves, and components due to its corrosion resistance and ease of fabrication.

Electrical: Suitable for electrical connectors, terminals, and switch components due to its conductivity and machinability.

Decorative: Used in architectural applications such as door handles, handrails, and decorative hardware due to its aesthetic appeal and corrosion resistance.

Industrial Equipment: Applications include fittings, couplings, and various components requiring corrosion resistance and mechanical strength.

Musical Instruments: C26000 brass is used in brass instruments due to its acoustic properties and ease of machining.
